The father of her was Argentine who had Scottish and English heritage. Her mother is Spanish and English heritage. The Taylor-Joy family was a clan with six kids. Four of her siblings are from her previous marriage to Taylor's dad. They moved with the family to Buenos Aires to Victoria, London at the age of six when Taylor-Joy was born. Taylor-Joy acknowledged that her move was painful, and she refused to pursue a degree in English as she wanted to be able to return to Argentina. Hill House became her school preference after she was forced to change schools. Then, she was enrolled at Queen's Gate School to study ballet and act in productions of the school. In her 16th year she quit school in order to pursue acting as a career. Since her early years, Taylor-Joy knew that she wanted to become an actress and her dreams came true when she was approached for a modeling gig at the hands of Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
